Before the Dreadhead released his single (which has 103 playcounts already on my iTunes), his brother, Michael Castro released an EP. If you're an avid fan of American Idol, you would remember Jason's little brother last Season 8.

The brotherly banter is forever amusing.

Unfortunately, he got cut in Hollywood week and didn't even make it to the judges' mansion. :( But that didn't stop him from reaching the American Idol dream. He auditioned again for season 9 and has now the golden ticket to Hollywood. I do hope he goes far into the competition, like top 24 and even top 12. I want the whole Castro family in American Idol history.

Michael kept himself busy and came out with an EP. The songs are catchy and relaxing. I love all six tracks!

1. Be Yourself Tonight
2. Free
3. Home
4. I'd Rather
5. Perfect Stranger
6. In Search of Tomorrow

And because I was in the mood, I typed down the lyrics to two of the songs. Maybe some other day, I'll post the rest of the lyrics if someone doesn't beat me to them. I was in dire need of the lyrics, but since no one has posted them online, I took the liberty of play-pausing the songs just to get the lyrics right.

In Search of Tomorrow

Sing me a song
of that old silent hill
and how the clouds would frame your porcelain skin

Highways along
and I wonder still
If i chase them down and search every town
then would I find you?

Sorrows will fade
Blessings will follow
Don't lose today
In search of tomorrow
For tomorrow brings the end

Shed me a tear
For the dreams of all those years
How we let them fade and hung them to dry

Next to me here
You're immortal in that frame
If i saw you now will you still look the same
Would you recognize me?

Sorrows will fade
Blessings will follow
Don't lose today
In search of tomorrow
For tomorrow brings the end

Be Yourself Tonight

Come on and stand a little closer
Talk a little louder
Tell me what you're thinking
And I'll tell you it's all right
Baby let me see you
Show me what you want to
But you don't have to try
Baby just be yourself tonight

So many people out there trying to talk in your ear
Tell you just who you want to be
You've tried his way and her her way
And their way and the world's way
But none of them seems to please

But nobody out there or anybody in here
Knows you better than you know yourself
So don't stop believing and all the things you're dreaming
Get out there and find yourself

Come on and stand a little closer
Talk a little louder
Tell me what you're thinking
And I'll tell you it's all right
Baby let me see you
Show me what you want to
But you don't have to try
Baby just be yourself tonight

To many people out there who try reach an ideal
That's it's all in a magazine
Just 'cause he said, and she said
or I said and we said
what doesn't cut the scene

Like we're all just pretending
That we know the perfect ending
When we don't even really know ourselves
But when nothing is for certain
that the song you hear is hurting
when you try to be someone else

Come on and stand a little closer
Talk a little louder
Tell me what you're thinking
And I'll tell you it's all right
Baby let me see you
Show me what you want to
But you don't have to try
Baby just be yourself tonight

But I can't see through all the things
you try to hide yourself behind
I wanna touch, I wanna taste
For something real
Don't be afraid to let me in
Just say what you feel
You're all i want

let's just fall in love again

Jason Castro's single is out now. He performed it during his webchat yesterday. I'M LOVING EVER SINGLE MOMENT OF IT.

Listen to it here. You can preorder his album too! :)

Let's Just Fall In Love Again
Jason Castro

Let’s pretend baby
That you’ve just met me
And I’ve never seen you before
I’ll tell all my friends
That I think you’re starin’
And you say the same to yours

And oh, we’ll dance around it all night
And then I’ll follow you outside
And try to open up my mouth
And nothing comes out right

And I wanna fall in love with you again
I don’t have to try
It’s so easy
Who needs to pretend?
But because it’s so funny
Let’s just think about it, honey
Let’s just fall in love again

I’ll call you in three days
Not too soon, not too late
And I’ll ask your roommate if you’re home
You call me on Thursday
And we’ll hang out all day
Then fall asleep on the phone

And oh, I’ll hold your hand when we drive
And we’ll lose track of all the time
And we’ll tell everyone
That we ain’t never felt so alive

And I wanna fall in love with you again
I don’t have to try
It’s so easy
Who needs to pretend?
But because it’s so funny
Let’s just think about it, honey
Let’s just fall in love again

We’ll fall disgustingly fast
And we’ll stop hangin’ out with friends
And they’ll be so offended

And I wanna fall in love with you again
I don’t have to try
It’s so easy
Who needs to pretend?
But because it’s so funny
Let’s just think about it, honey
Let’s just fall in love again
Let’s just fall in love again
So, let’s just fall in love again

Mom and I slept over at Tita Mimi's house here in Makati last night. Dad's still in Baguio and Mom suggested that we stay in Makati just for one night.

There are two ways in going to Tita Mimi's house. One is you take the jeep to Washington, then ride the tricycle that would drop you right in front of Tita's house. The other is take a jeep to Pasong Tamo, another jeep to Shopwise (PRC jeep), then walk or take the trike to Tita's house. Whichever way you take, the tricycle (or your walking feet) would pass by Santol street that would land you right smack in the middle of Baticulin street and right in front of Tita Mimi's house. If you would imagine the letter T, the vertical line is Santol Street and the horizontal line is Baticulin Street. The point where the vertical and the horizontal lines meet is Tita Mimi's house. It's not that hard to miss.

Anyway, Mom and I opted to walk. I met her at Pasong Tamo, then walked from there to Baticulin. When we arrived at Santol, the whole street was closed. Flowers of condolences were lined up along the sidewalk. The road was usually dim and quiet. It was still quiet last night, but the whole road was illuminated and people were swarming the place. I asked Mom what was going on.

Makati Mayor Binay's daughter-in-law, Kennely, died of giving birth last Tuesday. It was a premature birth, with the baby only seven months in term. She had complications with the pregnancy and was confined for a month before she gave birth.

The wake is being held at Mayor Binay's house along Santol Street. I think it is open to the public because no one minded us when we passed by the wake. I wanted to go inside the house and take a peek, but a mass was going on and it would be improper if some random stranger went in. If a mass wasn't happening on that night, I would've asked my Lola or my Tita to accompany me, since they personally know Binay.

It saddened me that a young mother of 29 left behind four young children (ages 6, 3, 1 and a 7-month old baby). It is the age where a child really needs the nurturing care of a mother. If I were the dad, I wouldn't know how to explain death to the children. The dad has to remain strong for his kids even if inside, he's broken and in mourning. Apart from that, he also has to move on and do his duty as the councilor of Makati. The burden that he is carrying is difficult. I feel for him and his children.

With life, came death.

Don't be fooled by these fish! They are fierce because they are fighting fish. They cannot be placed in an aquarium with other fish in it because it'll be WAAAAAARRRR. They declare Spartan War on every fish that they meet. That's why they have to be placed in separate aquariums.

My Tita owns around 5 kinds of fighting fish. They're low maintenance and you can place them anywhere because all you need is a small bowl of water.

i see my reflection
Loves this shot so much. While I was feeding the fish, it went towards the surface and it cast a reflection. I quickly took a shot.

Annnd now, the kick.

Wait until I get my sword. The poses will be hell lotta cooler.

I am seriously having photoshoot withdrawals, that I'm resorting to making a fool of myself by taking self-portraits. Can someone give me a free weekend so I can go out for a photoshoot with my friends? Or just take me nature walking. My shutter finger is twitching already.

I digress.

Do watch our recital tomorrow, 8pm at the Convenarium (Crossroad 77).
Admission is free.

Note to self: charge the camera battery tonight.

To President Cory Aquino,

I remember my mom telling me that she wanted to join the 1986 EDSA revolution. Dad didn't allow her because she was pregnant with me. She stayed home and watched the Filipino people fight for democracy. Her spirit flowed from our house to EDSA.

I was too young to be aware of political affairs and how your presidential reign inspired a lot of Filipinos to voice out their concerns. You weren't a perfect president (no one will ever be) and you had your share of critiques, but your faith kept you strong.

I don't know much about you, besides being the first lady president of the Philippines, the mother of Kris and Noynoy, and the wife of sir Benigno Aquino. You carried with you the color yellow, a symbol of life and sunshine. Surely, you were the sunshine to the dictatorship of the Marcoses. I feel bad that I only knew of your personality as a mom, colleague, boss, family member, sister-in-law, during the speeches that the people close to you gave. I admired your bravery and your compassion too late.

Now, the skies are one with the Filipino people as they cry out to an inspiration. It is in death that we realize the importance of our race. I just hope that we learn to appreciate our country, love our country and to die fighting for our country. We are all warriors in this battle called life. You fought for it and succeeded. It is our turn to carry on a legacy of democracy.

Thank you for being part of our lives. You are a living memory, an integral part of history.

Sincerely yours,
Yumi

This blogger needs some AI looooove.

I still like my layout (and I'm too lazy to sift through thousands of layouts in blogskins.com) so I just changed my header.

Thanks to Brooke Atwell for the photo. All credit to her. Photo ain't mine!

Wish I were at the tour to watch all the epicness that is Season 8.

The logo is from the tour book. Lyrics from "Don't Stop Believing."

Latest video from the tour! This was taken this morning (last night for the Charlotte people).

And because I'm still not over this birthday gift for Kris, I'm posting it again. This is how awesome American Idol is that it's making me do things like this for total strangers who can sing. I've done other contributions to Anoop, Sarver, Megan and Adam. Oh gawd. :))

1. RIP Cory Aquino. You will be greatly remembered for your courage and bravery.

2.To those on Twitter, let's celebrate David Archuleta's first anniversary on his first single, Crush! Show your support by tweeting #crush and #davidarchuleta. I've been flooding my Twitter since this morning, along with Chikai and Tia. Even if our tweets weren't related to Archie, we still included a hashtag to our tweets. haha

See, the Archie fans are too epic. They made them trend to the top! Too bad, we couldn't beat the #itsuckswhen. haha Ah well.

3. This is my workspace for today. I was trying to stay away from the internet, so I opened two computers. One was solely for twitter feeds (which I only checked once in a while), while I worked on my lappy in hopes that I'll finish my Psych paper by tonight. I'm almost done, so help me God.

I don't have wide-angle lens, so I cheated with photoshop. teehee.
