1. phil idol

this was the best night because everyone improved. yes, including those whose voices i hate.

apple - this is the kind of song that suits her. she nailed it and she should not be ousted tonight, based on last night's performance. one comment, apolonians are too noisy. OA.

arms - as always, she sings well. no more comment on that.

jan - there's something disturbing with his voice last night. and he suffered from the last-note-sablay syndrome.

pow - last-note-sablay syndrome too. she wasn't able to sustain the last note. sayang. and her performances are getting blah, maybe she needs to explore a new genre.

miguel - he played the piano! and wow, WOW miguel. it was your night. i loved your performance. bagay sa image and the song choice was perfect for you. good job.

ken - he improved. i thought he'd be able to get it till the end, but when he began to do the note curls, everything was lost. suffered from last-stanza-sablay syndrome. but i commend the effort. this was waaaay better than your song last week.

jelli - some lost notes, still. the performance was blah, it seemed like she was still singing in a lounge. not a competition piece for me.

gian - wow. my vote goes to you. the cello accompaniment was wonderful and he picked the appropriate song for him. no stray notes. wonderful.

mau - what can i say? you're a born singer. but mau, can you drop the trench coat-slash-coat, or anything that dangles like a bride's trail?

my top three: gian, miguel, mau (make that four), and apple
bottom three: jelli, pow, jan

they have a new voting system: people have only 2 hours to vote. no more haggling of money and text votes till 830 pm the next day. goodie.

2. out!

julia's husband showed himself on national tv yesterday. yeahoo.

mr "yu" (mali pa spelling, di nagresearch yung writer ng tabloid. two letters nalang, pinagbaligtad pa.) was revealed on s-files as julia's husband.

apparently, according to my resources, they got married in april. but their press release was they got married only last week.

sure.

just pay us the money due and i'll leave the chismis alone. bitter ako sa pera, dahil pinaghirapan namin yon. heh.

1. SING IT

my phil idol comments as i watch them sing.

apple - wow. she nailed it. wonderful choice of song. someone really watched over you tonight. isa lang comment ko, masyadong maingay ang mga apolonians.

pow - isa pang magaling. i bow to your voice. kaso yung last note, um... di masyadong nasustain.

jan - there's something with his voice na disturbing. last note, sablay din. what's up with last note syndromes? mamita, it's jan, not john.

mau - di na ako magccomment sa kanta kasi panalo ka na. but please mau, dropo the cape-slash-trench coat. di ba pwedeng pants nalang basta? bakit kelangan may trail of tela pa?

miguel - wow. he played the piano. looks like it'll be his night. WOW miguel, WOW. good job. i like it. no, i love it.

jelli - a blah song. not really for competition. it seems like she feels that she's still a lounge singer. she suffers from the last note syndrome. no screaming fans. haha

gian - uuuyy. love na love parin niya si aiza. sana magkabalikan sila. may cello! nice performance, from the heart. :) love it. (may smiley?!)

my top three for tonight: mau, apple, miguel (make that four) and gian
my bottom three for tonight: jan, pow, ken

2 hours lang ang pagboboto. this night, i'll vote. they deserve votes.

2. CHISMIS

nagpakita na ng mukha yung asawa ni julia clarete! at in all fairness, matino na itsura niya. di na blonde yung buhok at di masyadong maitim dahil sa kanyang pagsusurfing.

and sooo. the "yu" (na mali ang spelling. di naman nagresearch mabuti yung writer) is now revealed. yehey! confirmed nga! tama nga na siya nga ang asawa!

love at first sight daw.

khay.

sana kasing bilis nung kanyang pagpapakasal ang pagbabayad niya sa utang namin.

haha, ang bitter ko sa utang. kasi naman eh.

pot tagged me!

>> Thursday, October 26, 2006

Simply list down nine weird things about one's self and tag nine others.

1. when i drink coffee, i feel sleepy afterwards. but if i drink milk, i am awake for the whole day.

2. i can bend my thumb 90 degrees backward.

3. the toes on my feet are widely spaced. they look like alien feet. my ring finger toe is the same height as the pinky toe and has a larger nail than the latter.

4. before i go to bed, i have this story telling in my head that is the continuation of the story i made up the night before. helps me get a good night's sleep and keeps me away from nightmares.

5. i can't sleep without my "security blanket", which i have had since i was small. i don't care if it's gonna be ripped apart soon, as long as i have it with me when i go to bed.

6. i always wear socks if i'm sleeping in an airconditioned room or if the weather is cold.

7. i am addicted to speedo swimsuits. if i had a lot of money, i'll buy a lot of speedo swimsuits with different designs.

8. i have uaap superstition. everytime ateneo is playing a game, it's either i watch the replay, watch it live, or not watch it at all. i don't like watching ateneo games on tv. there's this feeling that ateneo will lose if i watch it on screen.

9. i enjoy bloody and manly movies with all the bombs. i even like watching wrestling. yeah, brings out the guy personality in me.

i tag:
(though some of these people rarely visit their blogger sites. mas masaya daw sa lj

5. monix (madam auring in a bikini top! ahaaay!)

there are showbiz gossips that you won't notice because either you don't care about the actor, or you can't just simply relate.

but this particular showbiz news pulled my bored soul out of its showbiz grave. finally, i can relate to a showbiz news!

it isn't normal for a person like me to say, "ay kilala ko yang sinasabi niya." i'm not a showbiz person, and i only have a few links to the showbiz world. well actually, this isn't really a close link to my life, but the "non-showbiz boyfriend" is a very close link to my batchmates.

your guts will just scream, "AY KILALA KO YAN! KILALA KO YAAAAN!!"

*ting ting ting ting* you hit the jackpot!

yehesss. julia's husband aka businessman is no other than... *tooooot* (for block e people, think Larawan, Romeo and JUliet and UTANG). yes that man, whom we gave our support and time in selling his tickets is julia clarete's husband.

i do have a lot of sources on how they met, the unknown truths, and the juicy gossip that everyone is dying to hear.

"mukhang kayang buhayin nung lalake si julia eh."

che. bayaran niya muna yung commission namin. we worked hard for that, you know.

"mabait yung guy."

suuuuuure. 6 months into the relationship is not enough to prove that he's that nice and that worthy to become a husband or wife. haha i've learned that from experience and stories from my girlfriends. just ask monix, she'll tell you a lot of stories about 6 months "likable-crushes-turned-devils".

left and right, i got ym messages and lj comments on the guy. people started talking. i've learned some stories about moolah. *sniff sniff* there goes our chance of getting our money. but i still need more research stuff. i got what i wanted, but the chismis isn't enough. haha

i'm still waiting for someone who'd name the guy. i don't want to start the name dropping, though i'm reaaaaly tempted to do so.

"you have caused the elimination of reymond and drae."

that's what you call the power of ryan cayabyab.

yebbah.

last night was themed opm bands and the contestants had to sing songs composed and performed by filipino bands. wency cornejo was the guest judge, replacing francis magalona for that night.

i bow down to mr. c's greatness. the judges had their super fair share of giving the greatest comments in the history of philippine idol.

gian - safe song, i would say. he didn't go falceto (yehey) but the song didn't suit his talent. i guess if he picked something more rockish, then he'd get the judges' vote.

apple - kitchie nadal. hmm. her voice was so low for the song. i'd still go for kitchie nadal.

jan - wrong choice of song. didn't match mr. c's standards.

pow - mr. c is expecting her to win. dandandandaaaan, meet mr. c's prediction! pressure is on pow!

ken - thank you mr. c for being the devil tonight. that was what i wanted to hear. 'nuff said.

mau - wow. i didn't know that there would be other interpretations of the song. at first i thought it would be a safe song for mau's vocal chords. but when she sang the falcetto notes, i was blown away. it wasn't mau on stage, it was a diva in the making. amazing.

arms - good choice of song. :) eeepaglalaban kooo. perfect LSS for the night.

jelli - um. there were stray notes. actually, she can sing and she has a good quality of voice, but she isn't consistent all throughout the song. there were flats and sharps along the way.

miguel - haha i found mr. c's comment funny. "go back and finish your high school." i would kill to have the funds to study in lasalle zobel (which will not happen because i'm through with schooling), so don't give it up kiddo.

tonight's the night. i reallly hope that the good singers stay and those who were dissed by mr. c to have their final bow. pleaaaassseeee..

the banquet

>> Saturday, October 21, 2006

one thing i like about chinese movies is that they give reverence to their culture. and even we are living in the modern times, they can still make these kinds of movies and actually pull it off.

if you want to spend your money on a good movie, then better watch 'the banquet'.

i won't go into details or any spoilers, i don't want to ruin the movie. you really have to watch it. the movie goes into my 'favorite movies' list.

everything is an art. from the cinematography, to the music, to the choreography, to the colors, and the script. i was mesmerized by the bright reds and white that would speak of blood and power. how a stone-y stream can turn into heads, or how snow can reveal a small army of soldiers is the magic of cinematography.

the chinese has a history to be proud of, and a culture to cherish. the movie shows the respect they give to emperors and the traditions they keep. they give reverence to the deceased, even if they are their enemies.

they value art. simple plays and skits are not about facial expressions and loud dialogues; even the most silent play can destroy a secret hidden for years. they can have a mask to their faces and show the greatest facial expressions of mankind.

even their martial art, wushu, is an art. the movements are dance-like, while defending yourself from enemies. before, i couldn't understand their style of flying from tree to tree. but as i got to appreciate the movement of the body, i saw that wushu is an act that brings you closer to nature by imitating it.

colors play a vital role in the movie. the intensity of feelings are evident in their costumes. white may represent peace, solitude, or even death. red is for fire, greed, and power. the colors speak for themselves, they give the answers to your questions without the characters telling you what it means.

less words, more intensity.

"what can be more poisonous than this?"

"the human heart."

'nuff said.

Now add up the total number of points.

OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should "handle with care." You're seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you,but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS : Others see! you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against
it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 PO INTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist. Some people think you're boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren't.

wanna make it big?

taken from the inquirer.

10 Things to Making It Big

Some things you could do to become famous

1. Bask in reflected glory. Hang out long enough with famous people, and some of that fame is bound to rub off on you—think “Entourage.” Mid-90s one-hit wonder DJ Alvaro had been largely forgotten, reduced to low-paying gigs at obscure clubs after “Ang Tipo Kong Lalaki,” until she started hanging out with sexpot Aleck Bovick, fanning rumors (never actually confirmed) that they were having a hot, lesbian affair. Corollary to this…

2. Sleep with somebody famous. Or, if they don’t want to sleep with you, cry out that you’re having/fathering his/her baby. By the time the DNA tests come in, you’ll have made the tabloids. Then make a tearful confession.

3. Get a makeover. Liposuction, nose job, boob job—the works. It’s still all about the way you look, baby.

4. “Throw a brick at someone famous.” This was said by the American newspaper columnist Walter Winchell back in the 1930s, but it’s still true today. When in doubt, attack! (See no. 2)

5. Turn gay. Nothing gives a flagging career a shot in the arm like the sudden revelation that you had been living a lie all those years, until the love that dare not speak its name could be silent no longer. Then, preferably, a suitably flamboyant and dramatic “outing,” like Rustom Padilla’s on-cam revelation. (Hey, we knew it all along, but it was still compelling, no?), or a slightly less flamboyant one like Aiza Seguerra’s (these days it’s not enough to be a talented songwriter, you need to be a talented lesbian songwriter to cut it in the music biz).

6. I fought the law, and the law won. If you can’t make it in the entertainment section, try making the front page. Robin Padilla used to do this all the time before he found Allah, but gun toting isn’t the only way to go. Figure in a brawl. Get in a car crash. Get busted for drugs or soliciting in a hotel lobby. Bounce a few checks, even. But make sure the cameras are rolling.

7. If you have to go down, go all the way down. People have a morbid fascination with the aftermath of fame, and the greater the heights, the more catastrophic the fall. Recently, ‘70s torch singer Didith Reyes returned from oblivion when she appeared on the news, jaw swollen like a ripe papaya, apparently a victim of wife battery. TV midget Mahal was also on the news pleading for a gig, any gig, to rescue her from the brink of poverty.

8. Live fast, die young, leave a good-looking corpse. Okay, admittedly this is a little extreme, but if you don’t stick around long enough to be forgotten, you actually up your chances of staying famous. Nobody remembers much of what Rico Yan did, for instance, except that he was once Claudine Barretto’s boyfriend. Claudia Zobel is better remembered for her death in horrific car crash than for any of the bold films she did, and the same could be true for starlet Halina Perez. Soap opera star Julie Vega’s early death eerily resembled a kind of saintly martyrdom, complete with miraculous signs and portents (at least, according to her fans). For pure morbid fascination, however, nothing beats “Miracle of Love,” a film produced by and starring Gabby Concepcion in the early ‘80s co-starring non-actress Roxanne Abad Santos, who was dying of leukemia in real life. She died before the premiere, giving the movie the kind of publicity that money can’t buy.

9. Get a good manager/agent. If you aren’t great at pushing yourself, get somebody else to do it, even if you have to pay them! But when all else fails…

10. Audition for a reality show, even if you have absolutely no talent. Hey, considering the strange mindset of the Filipino viewer (to paraphrase “Philippine Idol” Ryan Cayabyab), that doesn’t seem to be a requirement to getting the votes.

tsk tsk tsk.. ken, what did you do to the song? i was expecting a leo valdez-like interpretation. you did take out the "kulotations" (as mamita would say it), but you still did not nail it right. i think you could've chosen a safer song that would save you from the criticisms.

my philippine idol for tonight was mau. from the outfit (hottie green!) to the interpretation. wow, you are the winner for tonight. even if dulce was in the audience -- which for me is added tension -- you brought home the trophy beybeh! love it!

tonight, my favorite is arms. complete package with the head dress and maroon gown that made you look ethnic. the husky voice gave it an original touch. you didn't let drae and his kids down. good one arms.

i'd be voting for arms. pero bukas na. :)

talking nonsense

>> Monday, October 09, 2006

there are times that i am annoyed at certain people, especially when i see their name go online or even the mere mentioning of their name. i don't know why; they're not doing anything against me. but there's always this sudden change of emotions whenever their names go up in lights.

of course, people do have flaws. even i admit that i'm not the most perfect person ever born. but some people act as if they are doing something about those flaws. it's not about the flabby skin or the flawless skin, it's about the personality that makes me want to cringe everytime i hear their names. they talk to people like as if they have all the opinions in the world, but you can't even see it happening in their lives.

see? why am i even talking or writing about it? can't i just leave the person alone? maybe i should. i think i should. i should. but times will always come when i'd go irritated and crappy again. for no big reason. just like now. i should be working, but i'm ranting.

this post maybe is useless, no one would relate to it anyway. back to work.

ATENEO RAH!

>> Wednesday, October 04, 2006

ow well. so much for 1 second miracle shots. haha. but no matter what happens, "win or lose, it's the school we choose."

i wasn't able to watch the game, due to heart attack factors. it really gives me the jitters when i watch an ateneo game, may it be live or on tv (the only live show i've watched was the game against up last season, in the blue eagle gym). that's why i always rely on my die hard friends who religiously watch the game and assure me that ateneo's going to win. when that happens, that's the only time i open the tv to watch the last few minutes or seconds of the game.

so during the championship game, i didn't watch it. i went to my family friend's house to visit the new born baby cielo and watch a movie. when no one was texting me by 6 pm, i knew it. ust has taken over the court.

congrats ust. i still stand by my school. go ateneo!
